Although some of the wineries that were described met this expectation, this book primarily catalogues restaurants and places to stay that have been rated as expensive or very expensive. It seems the author took the opportunity to explore the best places to write off on her taxes. I'm sure these places are beautiful and romantic if worrying about the bill won't kill your libido. I should have made better use of the "look inside this book" feature before buying.

(More customer reviews)This information is so old, the author obviously has not set foot in my county in many years. In fact his reviews are verbatim from a previous "Best Places" written 9 years ago. There are so many new places not mentioned. Restaurants that have changed locations are still listed in their old locations, for example Santi, which moved years ago, is still listed in Geyserville. The only traveler that could use this book is a time traveller!

I have bought the latest version each time I have visited the Northwest and navigated by it. Ignore the one star review, he gave it because ONE listing was out of date.
